From Vietnam to Vancouver

Vietnamese Coffee Beans, Sourced with Purpose

Every cup at Hanoi Drip starts with beans grown and handpicked in the highlands of Vietnam. Our four signature blends — from 100% Robusta to 100% Arabica — are crafted to honour the tradition of Vietnamese coffee while bringing it to life in Vancouver.

The Origin

Why Vietnamese Coffee Is Different

Vietnam's coffee culture is unlike anywhere else in the world. Introduced by the French in 1857, Vietnamese coffee evolved into something entirely its own — bold Robusta beans, slow phin drip brewing, and creative additions like sweetened condensed milk, egg foam, and coconut milk that transform coffee into an experience.

The Beans

Robusta vs Arabica — Why We Use Both

Robusta

  • Higher caffeine (2.7%)
  • Bold, earthy, chocolatey
  • Low acidity
  • Thick crema
  • Thrives in Vietnam's lowlands
  • More affordable

Robusta is the soul of Vietnamese coffee. Its bold, intense flavour stands up to condensed milk and ice — and produces the thick, caramel-coloured crema that makes phin coffee so distinctive.

Arabica

  • Lower caffeine (1.5%)
  • Floral, fruity, complex
  • Higher acidity
  • Lighter body
  • Grown in Vietnam's highlands
  • More delicate

Arabica adds complexity and brightness to our blends. The floral and fruit notes from Vietnam's highland Arabica farms balance the boldness of Robusta, creating a more nuanced cup.
