Hanoi Drip is a Vietnamese coffee roastery and café in Vancouver. We source 100% single-origin robusta beans from family farms in Vietnam's Central Highlands — the Buôn Ma Thuột region, which produces some of the world's finest robusta coffee.

Our beans are roasted to a dark profile that brings out the natural boldness of Vietnamese robusta: deep chocolate, earthy undertones, and a full body that holds up beautifully in the phin filter, over ice, or blended with condensed milk.

We sell retail bags at all three of our Vancouver locations and online through our store. Wholesale supply is also available for cafés, restaurants, and offices across Metro Vancouver.

Why Vietnamese Robusta Is Different

Most specialty coffee in Vancouver is arabica — lighter, more acidic, and often described with fruit or floral tasting notes. Vietnamese robusta is the opposite: bold, earthy, high-caffeine, and deeply satisfying.

Robusta has roughly double the caffeine content of arabica and a natural bitterness that pairs perfectly with sweetened condensed milk — the foundation of cà phê sữa đá, Vietnam's most iconic coffee drink. It's also what makes egg coffee (cà phê trứng) so rich and complex.

If you've only ever drunk arabica, Vietnamese robusta is a revelation. It's not a lesser coffee — it's a different coffee, with its own tradition, its own flavour profile, and its own devoted following.
