The Story Behind the Drip
Hanoi Drip started with a memory — the smell of dark robusta coffee slowly dripping through a phin filter on a rainy Hanoi morning. When our founder arrived in Vancouver, that ritual was missing. The city had great coffee, but nothing that felt like home.
The first Hanoi Drip opened in Richmond in 2019, serving the Vietnamese community and curious coffee lovers who had never tasted anything quite like a proper cà phê sữa đá. The response was immediate.
Today, Hanoi Drip is more than a coffee shop. It is a bridge — between Vietnamese coffee culture and Vancouver's vibrant food scene, between tradition and the city we call home.

Authenticity First
We use 100% Vietnamese robusta beans, sourced directly from the Central Highlands. Every drink is brewed through a traditional phin filter — no shortcuts, no substitutes.
Community Rooted
Our cafés are gathering places. We hire locally, support Vietnamese-owned suppliers, and give back to the neighbourhoods that welcomed us from day one.
Craft Without Compromise
From the temperature of the water to the weight of the grounds, every detail matters. We train every barista to treat each phin as a ritual, not a transaction.
Our Journey
From a single café in Richmond to three locations across Metro Vancouver — built cup by cup.
The first Hanoi Drip café opens at 12560 Bridgeport Rd in Richmond, serving the Vietnamese community and curious coffee lovers.
A second location opens on Rupert Street in East Vancouver, bringing authentic phin drip coffee to the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood.
The third location opens on East Broadway in Mount Pleasant, completing our Metro Vancouver footprint.
Hanoi Drip launches a wholesale program for cafés, restaurants, and offices across BC — bringing Vietnamese robusta to more tables.

Hanoi Drip is run by a small, passionate team of coffee lovers, baristas, and community builders. We come from different backgrounds, but we share one obsession: making every cup worth the wait.
