Our Mount Pleasant location is tucked inside Ba Le Bakery, a Vancouver institution that has been serving the Vietnamese community with fresh bánh mì sandwiches, pastries, and baked goods for decades. The combination of Ba Le's freshly baked goods and Hanoi Drip's authentic coffee creates a pairing that is hard to beat anywhere in the city. It's a slice of Hanoi right on East Broadway.

What Makes Hanoi Drip's Vietnamese Coffee Special

The foundation of every drink we serve is the Phin filter — a small, stainless-steel drip brewer that sits directly on top of your cup. Hot water is poured over coarsely ground Robusta coffee, and the brew slowly drips through, producing a rich, concentrated, and intensely flavourful coffee. There are no machines, no pressure, no shortcuts. Just coffee, water, and time.

We source our beans carefully, using Vietnamese Robusta as the backbone of our blends. Robusta beans contain more caffeine and produce a bolder, earthier, more chocolatey cup than the Arabica beans used in most Western-style coffees. When combined with sweetened condensed milk over ice — the classic Cà Phê Sữa Đá preparation — the result is a drink that is simultaneously powerful and indulgent.

• Saigon Smooth — A balanced, approachable blend with a slightly sweeter finish, inspired by the café culture of Ho Chi Minh City.
